Did you guys know that the brilliant ladies of The Book Wars are featuring an entire month of posts about poetry and verse novels on their outstanding blog? 

Obviously, I was thrilled when they asked me to contribute a guest post, since I admire what they're doing on that blog so, so much. I thought it would be fun (probably not the right word!) to focus on what verse novels do best: play with readers emotions in the raw way only verse novels do.
